Will a stationary bike help me lose my postpartum belly and lovehandles?
I've heard that cardio and burning calories is the best way to do this, but I also know that stationary bikes mostly work the lower body.
Also, would it help tone my bottom and thighs, or just make me lose weight?
Yes, a stationary bike (or any vigorous physical activity for a significant duration) will help you lose your babyfat.
Even though you are using your legs to work the pedals, your body will use any available fat stores when it's looking for energy.
This will tone your butt and thighs, however, but you need to have a clean diet if you want to make sure to minimize the overlaying fat.
Try to eat 5 small meals a day, being sure to include lean protein and complex carbs. Stay hydrated, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Proper rest (I know it's hard with a new baby) is also important to keep fat at bay.
