I have started riding a bike for fitness but I don't know how far/how often I should ride. Any suggestions?
I have been going 20-25 miles a day, 6 days a week but I don't want to over do it. I want to be as efficient as possible to lose weight. I have changed my diet and started lifting weights 3 days a week. I just want to lose my spare tire!
Sounds like you're on the right track...Aerobic exercise should be done so that the heart reaches it's training heart rate and stays there at least 20 minutes....so usually at least 30 minutes of exercise.
Do not get discouraged....healthy weight gain is 2-3 pounds a week. anything more can be unhealthy.
