Weight Issues... Certainly issues.?
I am a 15 year old freshman who wants to loose some weight before summer so I can go to the parties and crap and look good at the same time. The problem is, I have always been overweight, though never obese. I have an enormous stomach... that is my only problem. I am 5 ft 10in and weigh 192 pounds. The average is 152 (i don't know). I can't go to the gym, however, I have a fitness ball, an exercise bike, and something called the gazlle freestyle elite. Does that last one work( for those that have used it)? What do I do?
do anything.anything that you can but please , do NOT go for gimmick diets and products , for God's sake.they're useless ( in the sense that they only make you lose water weight and you get it all back as soon as you get off the diet and get back to your normal routine.which is NOT what you want.)
to lose weight the healthy way , aim to lose no more than a couple of pounds a week , so there you can lose 5-6 lbs per month.that's really the healthy weight loss and most of what you lose this way will be fat.
so eat healthy.
sip on green tea a couple of times a day. ( 3 is ideal ).no milk , no added sugar.you can use sugar susbstitute ( just one pill to reduce it's bitterness , not to add sweetness )
drink more and more water.12-14 glasses.normal temp.those who believe that by drinking cold water you burn more calories , are insane.why the hell you won't go to antarctica and eat snow and come back after a month looking all lean cuz your body burned more calories bringing all that snow back to normal temp , huh ??? that's just crap.don't believe anyone who tells you to drink cold water just cuz your body burns calories to heat up that cold water.your body doesn't work that way.same is true for drinking hot water.just drink normal warm water.if you drink cold water or hot , that's okay too but it won't burn any calories.you're told to drink water to stay hydrated , not burn calories.you burn calories by doing other things rather than this.
workout for at least 30 minutes a day.60 minutes is very good.though you don't really have to do it all at a time.you can break it up into two 30 minute sessions , or four 15 minute sessions throughout the day.the benefits will be the same , more or less.just remember to include SOME physical activity in your routine , if you can't spend time in gym.
be active.and stay active.move around the house and find something to do.just don't lay on bed thinking about your wedding night or the like.
fidget more.you know how those people , who eat like a pig and still manage to maintain their weight , stay slim ? well , they fidget.yeah.my grandfather is a big fidgeter , like , he's always tapping his feet even when he is in deep sleep ( yeah that's a little sneaky ) and like always moving around the house and not sitting at one place for more than 10 minutes.and he has always been skinny.so fidgeting helps weight loss cuz it can burn an extra 500 calories a day depending upon your weight and height and how much of it you do !
doing only cardio won't help you lose weight/fat.include strength training as well as yoga/pilates.
HIIT and LILDC are great ways to burn calories.you can look them up on google to read more about it.
circuit training is also a nice idea.but just don't sqeeze it all into your routine at one time.start slowly , adding one thing at a time and going on with it for a month thn add another as you get fitter.get my point ?
umm.whatelse..eat 5 meals throughtout the day , like every 2.5 - 3 hours.that will keep your metabolism at fasted rate and you'll burn more calories even resting.
do not skip meals.it will only put you into starvation mode and you will end up decreasing the rate your body metabolizes fat.that's not what you want.so eat.and eat.and eat.but good stuff.
include lots of fresh fruits and veggies , low fat yogurt , skimmed milk , whole wheat stuff , fish , lean meat and chicken etc.just get lots of fiber and protein in.
i guess that's enough information for you to safely lose 20-30 pounds in 6 months.
Oh , one more thing , don't obsess over doing lots of squats , pushups , pullups , lunges , ab exercises , cuz it won't help you a bit.these exercises don't work.this is crap , people , crap.you can't choose where you lost fat from.there's no such thing as
spot reducing.so keep this in mind and don't waste your time sweating with squats and pushups and other targeting exercises like that.
when you lose fat , you lose it all over the body.not on just one particular part if you're doing seperate exercises for them.this is the most important thing about fat loss that you should be kept in mind before starting on any fitness program.
so happy journey ....
